This wakizashi seems to have solid gold mounts, in a plain wave design, added later, to show off the fantastic early Muromachi ko-kinko Goto Mitokoromono consisting of matching Kozuka, Kogai, and Fuchi-Kashira. Superb quality throughout.
The design is an often used Goto theme of artisans coloring and drying gold and silver Obi cloths outside; the Koto blade circa 1504, Kanenaga, so valuable a signature it was inset rather than lost when shortened from a Katana. Near Hitatsura Hamon.
